Neighborhood Association
The Cambridge Woods Neighborhood Association (CWNA) are the eyes, ears, and voice for the residents within the boundaries of the neighborhood. It works with and for its residents to maintain and improve this historic, liveable and dynamic neighborhood.
CWNA strives to resolve issues and concerns affecting the neighborhood in partnership with UW-Milwaukee, the Oakland Avenue Business Improvement District, adjacent neighborhood associations, and government agencies and representatives. CWNA accomplishes this by advocating for residents with elected officials and private businesses through organization and networking in a continuous effort to achieve a cohesive neighborhood community. Efforts are focused on neighborhood enhancements that improve the quality of life in a fun, positive, and productive manner.
CWNA depends on the participation and involvement of its residents to preserve and protect this vital neighborhood.
CWNA is represented by an elected Board of Directors consisting of four officers and five at-large directors.
Public meetings, featuring a combination of guest speakers (eg. elected representatives, Milwaukee Police Department, other city agencies, MMSD) and neighborhood updates are usually held quarterly at the Urban Ecology Center.
CWNA works with other nearby community groups through the Milwaukee East Side Neighborhood Association.
